Unpleasent doctor's visit...

for me that is...turns out I have a severely ingrown hair in the nether regions, and it's very painful. I thought maybe it was a cyst, so I called my OBGYN to see if I could get an appointment in the next few days, they got me in first thing this morning and I figured I'd go in let him check it out and he'd send me on my merry way. Far from it. Since JD had to work and it was kinda last minute that I found out I was going this morning I had no choice but to take Anna with me. OK, she behaved for the most part, but only because I took her coloring book and crayons. Then we were crammed into this teeny tiny little exam room, literally no room to turn Anna's stroller around in. So they tell me I'm due for a pap, no biggy, I undress from the waist down and then right when I cover up with that lovely little paper for privacey, Anna drops her cup and I jump down off the table and it rips. Great! Then Anna grabbed it and tore it even more. I could've looked in the cabinets and found another one, but what the hell, he's seen me way more revealed than that when I gave birth to Anna so I just climbed back up on the table and waited. He came in shortly after and had his little assistant with him, I'd never met her before, but I did see quite a few of the same nurses from when I was pregnant. It's hard to believe that it's been almost 20 months since I last saw them. Well he comes in and has to move Anna's monster stroller and she starts flirting with him, he was asking if she is talking yet and when I told him she could count to 10 now, he started talking to her and counting...all while he was already starting to do the exam LOL, it didn't bother me too much, but I could feel my face turning red. The pap smear was over in no time, but then he started looking at the bump that I originally went in for. He saw a small one and I couldn't really tell what he was looking at so I thought he was on the one that was hurting me so bad, but just not touching it. Turns out I had 3 bumps, but he got a needle and syringe to see if it was a cyst...OMG I wanted to jump off that table before he even touched it. That hurt so bad I don't even know what to compare it to, hell I had an epidural when I gave birth so it hurt worse than that. But after he stabbed all 3 of them with the needle, he said that they were just ingrown hairs. Great! I just spent $50 for a visit and it's just ingrown hairs! I guess I shouldn't complain though, since cancer does run in my family, my mom had cervical cancer right before she got pregnant with me so I am what they call high risk. So as soon as JD gets insurance next month, I am going to be getting the Gardisil vaccine. 3 shots over 6 months and it is proven to decrease your chances of cervical cancer and genital warts. Wooh! But hey if it helps me in the long run, I'm all for it.

So yeah, the doctor's visit sucked, but at least I found out it was nothing serious. It was a pain to even walk back out to the car when it was all over with, and it still hurts, so I've stayed home all day since we got back. Anna has been miserable since we got home for some reason, she's been whiney since she woke up from her nap. But she's got a sucker that she just stole from me and watching spongebob and being good and happy. So all is well other than my pain, but what do you expect when my last name is Payne LOL
